Wonthaggi Fire Brigade are holding their Centenary Celebration Ball On Saturday, 20th March, 2010. The event will be held at St. Joseph’s Hall, Korumburra Road, Wonthaggi starting at 7.30pm with semi formal dress code. There will be a live band: “Yesteryear” playing 60s, 70s & 80s music.
Tickets are $25 per head which includes supper and can be obtained by sending payment & details to the brigade at P.O. Box 432 Wonthaggi or visit the fire station Wednesdays 7pm-7.30pm or Sundays 10am-midday.
Help Wonthaggi Fire Brigade celebrate 100 years of serving the community.

Mar 20-21 - Nyora - Korumburra Working Horse & Tractor Rally |

Korumburra Working Horse & Tractor Rally will be held at South Gippsland Highway NYORA on Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st March from 10am to 4pm both days.
Our theme this year is the colour green and the Rally will feature Farmer Ingenuity Home Made/ Modified Machinery.
There will be Clydesdale horses working in the paddocks, Vintage Tractor Pull, Earth moving area, Sheep Shearing, Cow Milking, Butter Making, Chaff Cutting & Working Dogs. Continuous working displays, Blacksmiths forging Tools and Implements, Vintage cars and trucks, Wood working, Food Stalls, Older style market with Craft and variety Stalls, Pioneer Skills – Bushmen in action. Activities for the children and a Grand Parade.

This fun family event held on Easter Saturday over the past 3 years has grown exponentially from 270 participants in 2007 495 in 2009.
The success of the event lies in its inclusiveness of people of all ages and fitness levels, and drawing together the highly compatible themes of community, health & leisure in a safely managed environment.
There will be events held on Good Friday 2nd April, The Bike Tour & Walk on Easter Saturday 3rd April and on Easter Sunday 4th April there will be the Farmers Market, Bare Foot Bowls & BBQ and a Family Fun Film night at the Venus Bay Community Centre.

Gippsland Breastscreen is a FREE service for women.
Women from the ages of 50 – 69 are invited to have a FREE mammogram every two years.
They are located at the Bass Coast Regional Health, Graham Street, Wonthaggi.
No doctor’s referral is required.
All women in the South Gippsland area who have not followed up from their previous mammogram, or who have not attended before should call 13 20 50 and make a free appointment.
