Sept 3 Leongatha - Leongatha Lyric Theatre's Production of ‘Educating Rita’
Leongatha Lyric Theatre's Production of ‘Educating Rita’ opens on September 3rd at the Daker Centre in Leongatha.
The play, written by Willy Russell, is best remembered for the Film Adptation in 1983 staring Michael Caine and Julie Walters.

Sept 10/11 - Wonthaggi - Annual Orchid Show
South Gippsland Orchid Society are presenting their 21st Annual Orchid Show At the Wonthaggi Town Hall For 2 days only.
Friday 10th September from 9.30am to 4.30pm Saturday 11th September from 9.30am to 3pm.
Presentations at 1.30pm Saturday. A large range of orchids on display & for sale.
Potting Demonstartion-bring a plant & for a small fee have it repotted.
Morning, Afternoon Teas & Light Lunch Available. Admission $3 Children free.

Sept 20-26 - Churchill Island - Dora the Explorer
Hey kids, Meet Dora the Explorer and her Aussie Pals at the Churchill Island Heritage Farm, Phillip Island.
Dora will be appearing from 11.00am daily the first week of these school holidays, the 20th to the 26th of September.
The cost is Free with a 3 Parks Pass.
(The Pass Allows entry into Churchill Island Heritage Farm, Koala Conservation Centre and Penguin Parade)
Cost of 3 Parks Pass is Adult $36 Child $18 Pens $25.20 Family (2A + 2C) $90.

Oct 8 Fri - Wonthaggi - A dinner & Entertainment at the Wonthaggi Workmens’ Club.
The Wonthaggi Hospital Ladies Auxiliary are Celebrating 100 years with a dinner & Entertainment at the Wonthaggi Workmens’ Club.
Entertainment will be provided by the Wonthaggi Theatrical Group.
It will be held on Friday, 8th October at 7pm.
Cost is $25 per person with tables of eight if possible.
Book directly through the Wonthaggi Workmens’ Club booking office or phone 5672 1083.
All money raised buys much needed equipment for the hospital.
 
Oct 9/10 - Lardner Park - 10th annual Garden & Home Expo
Drouin Lions Club proudly celebrates its 10th annual Garden & Home Expo.
This event will be held at Lardner Park, Field day site, via Warragul from 9am to 4pm on the 9th & 10th of October.
With over 150 beautiful displays and sales, hourly demonstrations by TV personality John Patrick and other presenters you can view over 8,500 Square metres of exhibitions.
There will be childrens activities, entertainment, extensive catering and free & convenient parking.

Meeniyan Golf Club are holding their Goods & Service Auction at the Meeniyan Town Hall on Saturday, 16th October starting at 7pm.
Cost is $25 per person for meal and supper with the auction.
There will be a wonderful array of goods for both men & ladies including holiday accommodation.

Oct 29-Nov2 - Meeniyan - Art & Craft Exhibition
Gippsland artists are invited to exhibit in the 38th Meeniyan Annual Art & Craft Exhibition to be held from 29th October until 2nd November.
Several prizes are awarded including space to exhibit at the Meeniyan Art Gallery. The exhibition is open to adults and youth (ages 13 – 18).

U3A - Wonthaggi
You might have heard of U3A Wonthaggi, but do you really know what it is about?
Well, U3A is a co-operative of older people that encourages healthy ageing by enabling members to share many creative, leisure and educational activities.
The program tutors are local people-one might even live in your street.
There are 27 programs available ranging from Book Groups thru Practical Art to Yoga Chi Kung.
Most programs are held in the Garden Room, Bass Coast Education Centre 239 White Road Wonthaggi.

Bingo - Every Thursday night
Kilcunda Bass Football & Netball Club invite you to their Bingo every Thursday night. Doors open at 7.30pm and eyes down at 8pm.
There’s free tea & coffee with bar sales available.

Bass Coast & Sth Gippdland Combined Croquet Clubs

 Any one interested in trying this fasinating game, which has been compared to billards on grass.  Its a game for all ages and sexs, and lots of fun.  There are 4 clubs in our area, so if you live in the Shires of Bass Coast or Sth Gippsland theirs a club for you.
